NAR & NJREC Requirements
Both the National Association of REALTORS® and the New Jersey Real Estate Commission mandate requirements to all active members and salespersons.  Please review the requirements for each to remain in good standing.
 
National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Code of Ethics

REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training of not less than 2 hours, 30 minutes of instructional time.  The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®.

NJREC Requirements
All actively licensed NJREC brokers and salesperson are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education in order to successfully renew their real estate license.  The current term began July 1, 2019 and concludes April 30, 2021.  The following must be met in order to successfully renew:
 
1 Fair Housing Credit
2 Ethics Credits
3 Core Credits
6 Credits of Core and/or Elective Topics
